These three dictionaries are all created especially for language learners. The definitions use simple words to explain the idea of the word. Merriam-Webster is more American and Oxford and Cambridge more British. They are more precise than an English-Spanish translation dictionary but simpler than a normal English dictionary, and all are free to use online.

Duolingo have an app and a website which help you to learn with short, repeated tasks. You can use it on your phone any time you have a few minutes free.

The BBC Learning English ¨Words in the News¨ section uses a news story from the week to help you learn new vocabulary in context. ¨The English We Speak" discusses popular words and phrases in day-to-day English.

Word Reference and Spanish Dict are very good online dictionaries to translate English-Spanish or Spanish-English. Word Reference is usually more detailed. The Spanish Dict website has articles, games and grammar practice.

The British Council ¨Vocabulary Games¨ can help you learn new vocabulary in a fun way. You can also search on your phone´s App Store for games like scrabble, draw something, word searches, hangman or guess the word to learn words while you play.

The "English Vocabulary in Use" series of books from Cambridge are very useful to learn and practice new vocabulary in context.
